Living Waters of Alabama

It’s been said throughout the history of Christian thought that the church is always just one generation away from extinction. While on the one hand, I don’t want to believe that God would let that happen, I understand, on the other hand, that we are the Lord’s agents in the process and have a responsibility to share our faith stories with the next generation. Though it’s certainly not the only way, I am convinced that the Chrysalis experience provides a wonderful opportunity for our younger generation to get to know the Lord Jesus Christ in a very personal way, as well as build lasting friendships with fellow travelers on the Christian journey.

I imagine that most people who have found this web site and are reading this letter already have a connection to the Living Waters Community, or a familiarity with the Emmaus and/or Chrysalis experience. To you, I want make this heart felt plea: GET INVOLVED!! Sponsor one or more young people – from your church, your family, or any other place where you have contact with teenagers. Work on a Flight – there are dozens of ways to take part. But above all, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING! You know how prayer supports our efforts and the miracles that God has in store for all who stay “tuned in” to him through prayer.

And for anyone who may found our community through cyberspace exploration, and wish to know more about all this Chrysalis stuff – please email anyone and everyone who has a link on this web site, and we’ll be happy to share our thoughts and experiences with you.

With the help and power of the Holy Spirit, I know that we can work as partners in Christ’s service to continue to keep his church alive into the next generation – and the next – and the next. May God richly bless YOUR involvement in the work of the Living Waters Chrysalis Community!
