The Good Servant
Over the past few of months your Board has received a few requests for help due to the changes in the economy. Can you think of a better thing, besides being faithful to our God, than to help a brother or sister in need of help? We recently made our community aware of a request from our Emmaus brother, Adam Rich, who is a painter and with the building market slow was in need of work. Several of you contacted him to give him some jobs to do. This was a great show of love while being faithful to our Lord and Adam is truly grateful for the help given him by the community.
In order to accommodate future requests it was decided at the September board meeting to start an email, website and newsletter notification system, as the best way to let everyone know about community member needs.
Here is how this will work; if there is a request, please email, through the website, or snail mail it, to the Good Servant. The request will be reviewed by members of the Board to determine the nature of the request. If it is one that needs to be communicated to the whole community we will publish it on the website, send a community wide email, and put it in the newsletter for those who do not have internet access. So if you have something you would like help with and have internet access, go to the website and send the request to us. For now please send requests to the webmaster till we get a link for the Good Servant set up. For those who do not have internet access you can send them to the following:

Our first request under this new format comes from our brother, Chris Whitehead, who is attending seminary in Memphis and is need of financial help. As he had accepted this call several people had offered to aid him in this expensive venture if he needed it. Having faith that his needs would be provided for, he did not worry about it, not realizing that God had placed these individuals there for just that reason. Well it didn’t take long to see how this expense, not to mention the price of gasoline, to become overwhelming. So if you would like to help our brother, you can send a check to LWE attn: The Good Servant and we will see that he gets your anonymous gift. We can also put him in touch with you if you would like to help him more personally.
To me it is a great honor to help in the cause. I chose to do the Local Pastor route due to my age. I know that this calling is a hard thing for us to say “Not now God, I can’t afford to do this right now for You”. With the help of loving “Good Servants” like you and me; God’s call on Chris can be answered.
Be blessed my brothers and sisters
